If I may...

It's no secret: The Watchman did a little digging and found out ALIPAC (Americans for Legal Immigration PAC) hadn't paid employee taxes or withholdings. He notified the IRS, they investigated, and laid down the spanking.

Watch was sent a form to collect his reward, and says he will donate the reward to the Pottsville charity.

Or, in short, Gheenies Weenies have donated money to the victims of the Pottsville raids.

The irony will be thick, indeed.

I'm a little confused. Was it Gheen or ALIPAC that didn't pay taxes (or both)?  How did you know and how many years did Gheen and/or   ALIPAC evade paying taxes?

The Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is federally registered, and as such must submit forms to the IRS and the FEC. These documents are a matter of public record, and anyone can request a copy of these records from the FEC or IRS. In fact, the ALI-PAC is required to provide this information to anyone requesting it. In the past, PACs and the government would deal with such requests by US Mail, xeroxing the requested information and sending it back via mail (PACs and the government were and are permitted to charge the requester a fair amount for the xeroxing and for postage.) Nowadays, it's easier and cheaper for the government to put this information up on a web site, thereby saving a ton of costs and giving the public access to these documents after normal business hours.

Bob checked the records online.  Cheesy

Gheen claimed on Hispanic Business' Forum that ALI-PAC paid no employee taxes because he was an "independent contractor."

The IRS didn't buy that, either.

Bob, correct me if I'm wrong...

It's for certain that ALIPAC didn't pay employer taxes, because their FEC filings must show every expenditure. ALIPAC paid $5,000 to the U.S. Treasury in April 2008 and their recent filing shows payroll taxes paid, income taxes withheld, etc. through a payroll service.

What I can't state for certain is whether Willie paid his federal income taxes or not. It's possible he paid federal income taxes and self-employment taxes. Since this is all confidential with the IRS I suppose we'll never know for certain.

You can see from their FEC filings that prior to Q2 of 2008 zero employer taxes were paid and zero income taxes withheld. I believe the $5,000 paid to the U.S. treasury in April 2008 is a penalty for failure to file employer returns, pay FUTA taxes, etc.

All of this is public information. PM me if you want more details...

Yes, please make this public.

BTW, I might donate part of any reward money to El Pueblo (www.elpueblo.org), an immigrant advocacy group located in Gheen's back yard.

ALIPAC sought to revoke their tax-exempt status because el Pueblo lobbies on behalf of immigrants. ALIPAC failed because lobbying is only a small part of their work and tax-exempt organizations can lobby as long as that's not their principal activity. I'll donate in honor of William Gheen. Cheesy

Gheene claims you are making it all up watchman

DRAFT IN PROGRESS DO NOT DISTRIBUTE TILL THIS MESSAGE IS DELETED

Quote
The statements on your website or blog that William Gheen or Americans for Legal Immigration PAC did not pay proper payroll taxes or have been fined by the IRS is a hoax. Please remove this false information that alleges illegal actions by Gheen or ALIPAC. It is a false rumor circulated by Tony ***** and Robert ******* (Online Avatar 'Watchman')

William Gheen and Americans for Legal Immigration PAC are in good standing with the IRS and have not been assessed any penalties or fines for non-payment of payroll taxes. All appropriate taxes have been paid to our knowledge.

Mr. Bob ******* has not received any reward from the IRS for turning in Americans for Legal Immigration PAC for tax violations.

Mr. Robert ******, aka Watchman, and Tony ***** have made numerous false statements about William Gheen and Americans for Legal Immigration PAC and circulated these false allegations on the web and to major organizations and media across America.

After reviewing their numerous false claims, ZERO MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS have reported their fake research and no other significant organization has joined them in their smear campaigns. This is because their claims have been reviewed and found lacking in truth.

Mr. ******* has filed false reports of this kind with the IRS, NC Secretary of State, and Federal Elections Commission.

Both the NC Secretary of State office and Federal Elections Commission thoroughly investigated his numerous false claims and found them to be without merit and unworthy of further action or investigation. Mr. ******* has squandered thousand of dollars of your tax monies in his crazed vendetta towards William Gheen and Americans for Legal Immigration PAC.

We do believe Mr. ******* has attempted a similar tactic with the IRS, but the IRS has NEVER COMMUNICATED with us, regarding his attempts to harm our organization via the IRS. Our Treasurer is in regular contact with both the FEC and IRS and to our knowledge we are in full compliance.

Mr. ******* makes the false leap of logic because employer taxes were not listed on our FEC reports, when I was the lone employee of ALIPAC that these taxes were not paid. I have paid all appropriate taxes to the IRS and I have paid extra self-employment taxes out of my pay to spare the organization that extra expense in the past. We have recently changed practices because we now have multiple employees and I had ALIPAC pay employer taxes to help cover the tax bill for the first time this year.

It appears at this time that Mr. ******* is now conducting a hoax, since he has failed to generate any real problems or fines against ALIPAC.

We encourage your site to remove this false information and false allegations of criminal wrongdoing, and to treat information coming from Tony ***** and Bob ******* with more skepticism in the future.

If you have any doubts this is a hoax, simply ask Mr. ***** or Mr. ******* to provide an image file, for public display on the web, of the official IRS notification backing their claims. When no authentic image file is presented, our claim that this is a hoax will be substantiated.

With the issuance of this rebuttal, I openly challenge Bob and Tony to produce documentation for all to see or to admit their hoax. I will also forewarn them that it is against the law to make false claims of criminal conduct by others and against the law to forge, falsify, or modify the forms and communications of any Federal agency with prosecutorial power like the IRS.

We are sorry that your website is now encountering the same kind of problems Mr. ******* has caused for numerous public agencies by circulating claims for which he has no real evidence. It is clear that he is obsessed with William Gheen and Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, since we kicked him off our website for the same behavior.

Please delete this hoax.

Notice how he posted this in his public area, where anyone can see it?

If this was a real draft, I doubt it would ever leave the comfort of his hidey hole.
